If I had a desktop I couldn’t do that (without a whole lot of hassle anyway). All I had to do was slip my MBP into my bag, pack up the various peripherals I need, and I have my whole production rig with me here. We’ll use the Vintage VCA mode, as this has a fast response and relatively clean sound. We’ll start by looking at French-style compression, using the Compressor plug-in across the insert of the Big Euro Pad track.

I flew out of LA right when this virus started picking up steam in the US, and I’m back on the east coast at the moment with family. I just bought a new Macbook Pro 15 inch retina, installed with El Capitan 10.11.4 and Logic Pro X, with a new interface reside Audio T4 Thunderbolt. Sidechaining in Logic Pro X: step-by-step. And since 95% of the time I’m using an interface or headphones, I can manage fine. The 16” in every other way is the exact machine I need for my work. It’s frustrating for sure.īut in the big picture, I just have to adapt.
Logic x pro speakers crackling upgrade#
I hope not, because I really would like to spend my money to upgrade from an old MBP.It’s a big deal to me in some ways. It will be interesting to see if the upcoming 14" will have the same issue. If they can't fix it in software, there will be a repair program in 1-2 years IF everyone with the problem will report it to Apple. I also can't understand people who bought it and say: ahh it's not a big deal, I'm using headphones/interface.
Logic x pro speakers crackling update#
What makes it even worse is that many buyers were hoping for a quick fix and Apples responses surely sounded like there will be a software update fix soon.īut now the 14 or even 30 day return windows have closed and people who spent 2300+ bucks for a laptop are left alone with a flawed product. Headphones and external interfaces are fine. I’ve heard the issue in Logic and Ableton but only on the internal speakers. In my case it is only the laptop speakers that are effected. Seems everyone here is only having the issue with the internal speakers.

Only signals coming from my usb2 audio interface.Įdit: I was on the phone with one of their software developers located in Sweden and they had no clue and had NEVER heard of the issue before. Every thing I play sounds like it's been run through a bit reducer with some noise.Īnother interesting thing about it is that it doesn't seem to affect the internal audio routing in my aggregated audio device. In my case I do not have the stuttering effect that you showcase, instead the sound gets more and more distorted. Switching between sample rates and buffer sizes fixes the issue for a few minutes. It can happen after 5 minutes, or 15 minutes, but usually happens faster if I load up more plugins. I can confirm a very similar issue as well on the 16"Įverything appears to be working fine at first, and then it will gradually reappear and "overload" the usb2.0 audio interface.
